New Mexico Off. Coordinator/RB-OL coach

Offensive coordinator/RB coach Darrell Dickey and offensive line coach Mike Degory will not return to the New Mexico staff in 2011. The coaching tree has come up with potential replacements for the RB and OL openings, as well as candidates to be the offensive coordinator:

RUNNING BACKS COACH

Kurt Beathard* - Florida Tuskers (UFL) running backs coach

• Coached at Illinois from 2007-09. Mike Locksley was the offensive coordinator at Illinois from 2005-08.
• Defensive backs coach at Pacific in 1995, when Locksley coached the outside linebackers the same year.

Jim Mastro* - Nevada running backs coach

• Coached linebackers and special teams at San Jose State in 1995. Defensive line coach Rubin Carter was the DL coach at SJSU in '95.

Jim Miceli* - Akron assistant head coach/running backs coach

• Recruiting coordinator at Maryland from 1994-97. Mike Locksley came to Maryland in '97 as RB coach.

Gene McKeehan - Army guard/center coach

• Navy OL coach from 1995-2000. Wide receivers coach Matt Wells coached at Navy from 1997-2001.
• Utah State offensive coordinator from 1982-94. Matt Wells played QB at Utah State from 1993-96.

Brent Myers - UNLV tight ends coach

• OL coach at Louisville from 2007-09. Matt Wells coached quarterbacks at Louisville in 2009.

Jeff Bryant - ex-North Texas offensive line coach

• Played OL at Tulsa from 2004-06. Matt Wells coached tight ends at Tulsa from 2002-06.
