Ricky Rahne has left Kansas State to become the quarterbacks coach on James Franklin's new staff at Vanderbilt. The coaching tree has come up with the following potential replacements:
- Wide receivers coach at Kansas State from 1995-2005 after starting as a graduate assistant with the Wildcats in '94.
Clancy Barone - Denver Broncos Offensive Line Coach
- Offensive coordinator at Wyoming from 1997-99 and at Houston from 2000-02 under Dana Dimel, who was the head coach at both schools.
Jonathan Hayes - Cincinnati Bengals Tight Ends Coach
- Played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1985-93. Played one year with WR coach Michael Smith, who played for the Chiefs in '92.
- Played at Iowa from 1981-84. Bill Snyder was his offensive coordinator and Del Miller was also an assistant coach for the Hawkeyes.
Darrell Dickey - ex-New Mexico Offensive Coordinator
- Played quarterback at Kansas State from 1979-82.
Other names in consideration:
Toby Neinas, New Mexico;
Brent Brennan, San Jose State.
