Washington Cornerbacks Coach


Demetrice Martin has left the Washington staff to join Jim Mora's new staff at UCLA.  Here is our list of potential candidates for the cornerbacks coach position:


Greg Burns - Arizona State Cornerbacks Coach
  • Was on staff at Arizona State from 2008-11.  Dan Cozzetto coached tight ends at ASU in 2007 and '08.
  • DB coach at USC from 2002-05.  Steve Sarkisian was on staff at USC from 2001-03 and from 2005-08.  Nick Holt was on the Trojans staff from 2001-03 and again from 2006-08.
  • Cornerbacks coach at Louisville from 1998-2001.  Holt coached DL at Louisville from 1998-2000 and Mike Cox was the LB coach for the Cardinals from 1998-2002.  Johnny Nansen was a graduate assistant with the team in 1999 as well.
  • Began his coaching career as cornerbacks coach at Idaho in 1997, where Nick Holt was the team's defensive coordinator and Jeff Mills coached the safeties.
  • Played DB at Washington State from 1991-95.  Johnny Nansen played LB at WSU from 1994-96.        


Rick Courtright - Ex-Arizona Cardinals Assistant Defensive Backs Coach
  • LB coach at Idaho from 1996-99, where he worked on staff with Nick Holt and Jeff Mills.
  • Coached at Washington in 1991 and '92.


Craig Bray - Arizona State Defensive Coordinator
  • Was the DC at Arizona State from 2007-11, where he worked on staff with Dan Cozzetto for two seasons.
  • Defensive coordinator at Oregon State from 2000-02, where Dan Cozzetto was the Beavers RB coach.
  • DB coach at Washington State from 1994-99.  Johnny Nansen was a LB for the Cougars from 1994-96.
  • Defensive coordinator at Idaho from 1989-93.  Both Nick Holt and Mike Cox were on his staff.
  • DB coach at Idaho in 1984 and '95, where he worked on staff with Cozzetto.          


Kim McCloud - Akron Defensive Backs Coach
  • DB coach at Nevada from 2000-07.  Jeff Mills was the defensive coordinator at Nevada from 2000-03.
  • DB coach at Idaho in 1998 and '99 when Mills was the Vandals defensive coordinator.

  • James Ward, Nevada
  • Randy Stewart, Fresno State
