Mike Leach has been hired as the new head football coach at Washington State. The coaching tree has come up with the following projected coaching staff for the 2012 team:

Sonny Cumbie* - Texas Tech Inside Receivers Coach
- Graduate assistant at Texas Tech under Mike Leach in 2008 and '09.
- Played QB at TTU from 2000-04.
RUNNING BACKS COACH
Seth Littrell* - Arizona Offensive Coordinator
- RB coach under Mike Leach at Texas Tech from 2005-08.
- Played RB at Oklahoma from 1997-2000. Leach was the offensive coordinator at OU in 1999.
Other names in consideration: Clay McGuire, ECU; Jim Mastro, UCLA
WIDE RECEIVERS COACH
David Nichol - Arizona Outside Wide Receivers Coach
- Graduate assistant under Mike Leach at Texas Tech from 2003-05.
- Started as a student assistant for the Red Raiders in 2000 and '01.
OFFENSIVE LINE COACH
Robert Anae* - Arizona Offensive Line Coach
- OL coach under Leach at Texas Tech from 2000-2004.
DEFENSIVE LINE COACH
Mike Fanoga - Lane College Defensive Line Coach
- Coached defensive line at Kentucky from 1997-99. Leach was the OC for the Wildcats in 1997 and '98.
- Coached with Leach at Valdosta State from 1994-96.
- Was on staff with Leach at Iowa Wesleyan in 1990 and '91.
LINEBACKERS COACH
Darrell Patterson - Rice Linebackers/Special Teams Coach
- Coached with Leach at Kentucky in 1997 and '98. Patterson coached DBs while Leach was the offensive coordinator.
DEFENSIVE BACKS COACH
Trey Haverty* - TCU Safeties Coach
- Played WR at Texas Tech from 2001-04.
Other names in consideration: Brian Mitchell, ECU; Randy Stewart, ex-Fresno State
SPECIAL TEAMS COACH
Eric Russell - Tennessee Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach
- Coached special teams at Texas Tech in 2009.
- Played college football at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Washington, which is ~80 miles north of Washington State University.
