Ted Roof has left Auburn and is now the defensive coordinator at Central Florida. The coaching tree has come up with the following potential replacements:
Everett Withers - ex-North Carolina Head Coach
- Was the defensive coordinator at UNC from 2008 until being named interim head coach prior to the 2011 season. Tommy Thigpen was an assistant for the Tar Heels until coming to Auburn in '08, and worked for one season as Withers' LB coach.
Kevin Greene - Green Bay Packers Outside Linebackers Coach
- Played at Auburn from 1980-84.
Vic Koenning - Illinois Defensive Coordinator
- Was the defensive coordinator at Troy in 2003 and '04, where he worked with Mike Pelton, who was the Trojans' defensive line coach.
Joe Whitt Jr. - Green Bay Packers Cornerbacks Coach
- Played at Auburn from 1997-99 and was a student assistant coach in 2000 and '01.
- His father, Joe Whitt Sr. was an assistant coach at Auburn for 25 years.
Kevin Greene - Green Bay Packers Outside Linebackers Coach
