Boston College Offensive Coordinator/Special Teams Coach


Boston College is in need of a new offensive coordinator as well as a new special teams coach.  Here are our potential candidates for each of the open positions on staff:

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR


Doug Martin - New Mexico State Offensive Coordinator
  • Offensive coordinator at Kent State in 2003 and took over as head coach in '04.  Ben Sirmans was the RB coach at Kent State from 2000-04.  
John DeFilippo - San Jose State Offensive Coordinator
  • QB coach at Columbia in 2003 and '04.  Mike Siravo was the LB coach at Columbia from 2003-05.
Matt Griffin - Jacksonville Jaguars Offensive Assistant
  • Assistant coach at Maine from 1999-2002.  Jeff Comissiong was the RB coach at Maine from 2000-02 and Ben Sirmans was the RB coach at Maine from 1996-99.
Other names in consideration:
  • Rob Spence, Bethune-Cookman
  • Warren Ruggiero, Bowling Green
  • Walt Harris, California (PA)
  • Jay Paterno, Penn State   

SPECIAL TEAMS COACH


Patrick Madden - ex-Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) Assistant Coach
  • Graduate assistant at Boston College from 2007-09.
  • Assistant coach at Columbia from 2000-05, where he worked on staff with Mike Siravo.
Ben Albert - Temple Outside Linebackers Coach
  • Played defensive line at Massachusetts from 1990-94.  Bill McGovern coached DBs at UMass from 1987-90 and was the defensive coordinator in 1992 and '93.
Toby Neinas - ex-New Mexico Linebackers Coach
  • Assistant coach at Temple from 2002-05.  Dave Brock was the offensive coordinator at Temple fro 2002-04.

  • Kevin O'Dea, Chicago Bears
  • Dave Ungerer, ex-Washington State
