Eric Russell has left Tennessee to coach the special teams at Washington State. Here are our potential candidates to replace him:
Kirk Doll - San Jose State Special Teams/Running Backs Coach- LB coach at LSU in 2002 and '03, where he worked on staff with Derek Dooley as well as Lance Thompson.
Pete Alamar - Fresno State Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach- Coached TEs and special teams at Cal from 2003-09. He worked on staff with Justin Wilcox, who was the LB coach at Cal from 2003-05.
Tim Salem - Central Florida Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach- Offensive coordinator at UCF from 2004-08. He worked on staff with Lance Thompson from 2004-06 when Thompson was the team's defensive coordinator.
- Assistant special teams coach for the Chicago Bears in 2004 and '05. Harry Hiestand was the Bears' OL coach from 2005-09.
