Mississippi State Wide Receivers Coach

Mark Hudspeth left to become the head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, where he replaced Rickey Bustle. The coaching tree has come up with four potential replacements:

Zach Smith - Marshall Wide Receivers Coach
  • GA/quality control assistant at Florida from 2005-09. Worked with Dan Mullen from '05-08.

Stan Drayton - Florida Running Backs Coach
  • RB coach at Florida from 2005-07, when Dan Mullen was the Gators' offensive coordinator.
  • RB coach at Mississippi State in 2004.
  • If hired, expect current MSU running backs coach Greg Knox would move to WR coach.

Rob Likens - Louisiana Tech Wide Receivers Coach
  • Played receiver at Mississippi State from 1986-89. Les Koenning was his position coach.

Zach Azzanni - Florida Wide Receivers Coach
  • Graduate assistant at Bowling Green in 2001 and '02, when Dan Mullen was the QB coach under Urban Meyer.

Other names in consideration: Billy Gonzales, LSU; Gregg Brandon, Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL); Kenith Pope, Iowa State (RB); Angelo Mirando, Mississippi State.
