UCF Receivers coach David Kelly has resigned after an NCAA investigation looking into recruiting practices. The coaching tree has come up with three potential replacements for the open position:
Dino Babers - Baylor Outside Receivers/Special Teams Coach
- Coached receivers as Purdue from 1991-93, where Tim Salem coached quarterbacks for the Boilermakers.
- Coached special teams at Northern Arizona in 1990. UCF defensive coordinator John Skladany was the DB coach at Northern Arizona from 1990-92.
- Graduate assistant at Arizona State in 1985, where he worked with Salem, who was also a GA with the Sun Devils.
Juan Taylor - ex-Buffalo Wide Receivers Coach
- Coached WRs at Buffalo from 2006-10, where he worked with Danny Barrett, who was the QB coach at UB from 2007-09.
Ronnie Lee - ex-Minnesota Defensive Coordinator
- DB coach at Colorado State from 1993-2000, where he worked with John Skladany, who was the defensive line coach at CSU from 1993-96.
- Lee wouldn't be hired as a WR coach. If hired, he would coach the defensive backs. Current DB coach Sean Beckton would then move to receivers, which he coached at UCF from 1996-2003.
