Hugh Freeze has left Arkansas State after one season and a 10-2 record to become the new head coach at Ole Miss. The coaching tree has come up with the following potential replacements:
Randy Fichtner - Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterbacks Coach- Offensive coordinator at Arkansas State from 1997-2000.
Houston Nutt - ex-Ole Miss Head Coach- WR coach at Arkansas from 1990-92. Dr. Dean Lee was the vice president of the Razorback Foundation at Arkansas from 1988-95.
Ray Brown - Carolina Panthers Assistant Offensive Line Coach- Played OL at Arkansas State in 1984 and '85.
Joe DeForest - Oklahoma State Special Teams Coach
- Coached special teams at Oklahoma State since 2001. Arkansas State athletic director Dr. Dean Lee was the associate AD at OSU from 1997-2002.
